Celebrating Chinese New Year
At Innovate we joined a quarter of the world’s population in Celebrating Chinese New Year and gave all our students a festival of tantalising tastes to remember.
Once again, our teams went above and beyond expectations with their efforts in serving up great Chinese New Year delights for every student.
This year we saw (and thoroughly enjoyed) it all! From dumplings to daikon, rice pudding to rice crackers, the range of new and fresh ideas was amongst the best we have ever seen. There were also touches of Healthy Eating January in many menus, with the use of seasonal vegetables and healthy ingredients really prevalent in lots of entries.
While each and every school enjoyed its own particular creations, we at head office got to enjoy the lot. The competition between innovate teams was as fierce as ever, we’d like to say a massive well done and thank you for all your efforts!! You totally knocked our woks off.
As with all competitions, there can only be one winner in each category (because we like to keep things neat and simple)
Best Gantry… Sir William Borlase
Gus and the team really impressed us with the simplicity, showing the kind of colour and abundance you would find in a typical Shanghai Street-food market: awesome stuff and well done guys!
Best grab and go… Westgate
Once again, Zoe and the team showed they excel at all things takeaway, with these stunning boxes and crispy cups that wouldn’t look out of place in the backstreets of Beijing, good work!
Both teams won fantastic prizes of authentic Chinese ingredients bags, which will no doubt assist them in honing their skills even further. We’re already looking forward to next year’s Chinese Food fanfare, as (we’re sure) are you.
