Honiton Community College Senior Citizens Annual Christmas Lunch
HONITON Community College hosted the fifth annual Lions’ Senior Citizens’ Christmas Lunch, just before the festive period.
Jackie and the Innovate team prepared a delicious Christmas lunch for more than 80 senior citizens from the local community. With great interest from the senior citizens, the event was well attended and was a real success, the food that the kitchen staff produced was amazing and enjoyed by all.
A spokesperson for the Lions said: “The event could not have taken place without the help and support of the teaching and kitchen staff, and naturally the college students, with over 25 gathering to help with serving.”
“Father Christmas got everyone to sing-a-long, and make the event a huge success.”
A school spokesperson added: “The college is especially grateful to the Honiton and District Lions Club and those local businesses who donated prizes, money and time.”
“Without their support the event would not have been able to take place.”
“A wonderful effort – the generations within the community in harmony.”
A letter from one of the guests indicates how well received it was and a news article about the event appeared in the local press:
